Solution #2. i take it that you are referring to the beyerdynamic dt990 pro 250ohm which is available for about $200? and not the more expensive premium line which is available in a 32oh version not requiring an amplifier? the dt990 250ohm are notoriously hard to drive so you will want a decently powerful amplifier.

The990 only excell in competetiv gaming imo and the 770 ist the better Allrounder. You can go for 32,80 or 250 ohm with the first two being able to be driven even with your onboard sound. The 250 might be a bit quiet tho. Other than that not only the impedance is of importance rather than the efficiency (SPL).

Ive now seen tons of videos, forum threads, etc. and have settled on the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Premium. Now, I'm trying to make a decision between the 32 OHM or the 250 OHM versions. The 32 OHM version costs around $150 on amazon, and the 250 OHM version around $210. $60 price gap between the two. If I get the 250 OHM version,
Forportable use Focal Listen and Fiio FD1. I recently tried K712 Pro and the DT 1990 Pro for gaming. The AKG K712 Pro are insanely comfortable and have an enormous soundstage. The Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro are still pretty comfortable, have a premium build, a good soundstage and insane imaging.

BeyerdynamicDT900 Pro X - excellent tune for music and acceptable for gaming. The signature Beyer tune makes them bright and too fatiguing for long sessions. FPS footsteps are clear but becomes muddy when multiple enemies are around. Easy to power w portables but improves with amplification. Good price value.

TheBeyerdynamic DT 990 Pro headphones are renowned for their precise sound reproduction and immersive audio performance. Designed for professional studio TheBeyerdynamic DT 990 PRO aren't designed specifically for gaming like the Corsair VIRTUOSO PRO are, but they're still a good choice for wired gaming. They're comfortable and more sturdily built than the Corsair and offer a more accurate bass response. However, if you need a microphone to communicate with your teammates, you'll want to opt for the BeyerdynamicDT990 Pro: UNDERRATED for gaming, editing, listening. NOTE: I'd suggest you use a quality headphone preamp with the 250ohm version of these Bythe way, like the first comment mentioned, the DT880 is better for gaming, especially for FPS games, as it has superior imaging. It also sounds more neutral than the DT990, it might fit your music genres better - highs on the DT990 might be too much for some folks. MrtROR.
